Ladder of Jacob

“If the Evangelist has some symbolism in mind connected with the number 153, he has hidden it well.”

In 1986, there was a severe drought in the Sea of Galilee. When the water levels dropped significantly, two fisherman, Moshe and Yuval Lufan discovered something incredible: the remains of a fishing boat from the 1st Century. After days of excavation and careful treatment, the 27 foot long, 7.5 foot wide was unveiled to the world. Gazing at this ancient boat fills one with wonder, and inspires the inevitable question: Was this Shimon Kefa’s boat? Did Yeshua board this vessel? It is impossible to know who the boat belonged to, and there is no evidence connecting it to Yeshua. However, its discovery is of incredible importance to Jews and Christians alike, as it opens a window into the life of first century Israel, and…

Set Apart

Shabbat Shalom haverim!  This photo reminds me of the beauty of God’s creation…and of the wonderful things he has in store for us in His kingdom…when God sets something apart as special and holy, who can undo that?  Can humans, or a church, change His commands?  Can we override His authority?  If we are His children, we should follow His instructions, guidance, and rules….Don’t we as parents tell our children “as long as you live in MY HOUSE you will live by MY RULES ” we expect our children to respect us and comply…what makes us think that our heavenly Father, doesn’t expect the same from us?  Don’t be deceived!  God’s instructions/Torah is still valid today!

Approaching Eternity

This may sound a little crazy to some of you…

But I really feel that Yeshua/Jesus is coming soon…I feel it…I see it in the events that are taking place around the world.  And this overwhelming feeling that nothing really matters in life except serving and loving God the creator…In my other post about the book of Ecclesiastes, there’s also a line that he uses quite frequently… “It’s all vanity!”  and I was thinking that it really is!!!  All this struggle to gain money, education, wealth, beauty, pleasure, excitement, thrills, people trying to be skinny…I don’t know, it just all seems pointless to me at times.  What is any of that going to matter when Yeshua breaks through the clouds!!!  So many people want prosperity, material things that they think will make them happy…Believe me I’m not excluding myself from this, I sometimes think that if I had this, my life would be better or if I had that…but really no, it’s just another burden, a weight to carry.  What it really comes down to is this and the Author of Ecclesiastes says it best:

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing , whether it be good, or whether it be evil.    – Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 KJV

Fearing God does not mean you are afraid of Him, but that you have a deep and reverent respect for his awesome power! Knowing that he holds everything in His hand, and acknowledging that he has the power to give and take away.  I don’t believe in scaring people into accepting Him, I think that once you truly see all the good he wants for you, and how much he loves you and what he did because he loved you.  Once you recognize the condition you are in, and that it’s not necessarily your fault, but that you don’t know any better, most people don’t know what God’s standard of righteousness is, most people don’t read the Bible from cover to cover, they just trust that the Pastor is telling them the right things, they don’t study for themselves. Satan, the adversary and the deceiver, has been corrupting humankind from the very beginning and that corruption has been multiplied for thousands of years, bringing us to the state that we are in today.  Calling evil good and good evil.  That’s why God sent us his Son!!  To Redeem us from this genetic curse of sin that has been passed down throughout the generations.  Only Yeshua can break the cycle, if you let him!  Yeshua provided the means for all of us to come back to God through the blood of the perfect Lamb that takes away the sins of the world.  His name means Salvation in Hebrew…so what is he saving us from?  From eternal death and separation from the source of life  YHVH!  Because of Satan’s deceptions we sin, he says it’s ok to break God’s laws, he obscures the truth through many avenues…media, false teachers and prophets…prosperity preachers…worldly distractions that keep us from truly digging deep into Gods word.  We also battle with our own fleshly desires, Satan knows our weaknesses and tries to influence us just like he did with Eve/Havah in the Garden.  But ultimately you also need to know that God does not want you to die!!!  He does love you!!  That’s why he provided this Salvation and Redemption through Yeshua!!  And you now have this free gift of Grace and Mercy for what you probably didn’t know was sin in God’s eyes…Sin is transgression(going against/breaking) of God’s laws/instructions…but how do you know if you are sinning if you don’t know what God’s instructions are?  So I encourage all of you to dig deeper into Gods word, get a good translation directly from the original Hebrew text, and read from front to back…I did it and it changed my life!!

Twinkle

In my heart there’s no one

Stretching toward the sun

In vain grasping the light

Vexed in spirit, blind in sight

Coerced to feel this false emotion

Forced to drink your magic potion

Give me rest from these imaginations

Liberate from this counterfeit creation

My desire

In the twinkle of an eye

Feeling Lately

I’ve been wanting to share some thoughts…feelings…emotions, but not sure how or where…so why not start a blog?  Not sure if anyone will be interested or even care what I’m sharing….but why not, everyone is doing it lol…  So lately I’ve been feeling Ecclesiastical…what does that mean?  Well if you’ve ever read the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, you know that King Solomon wrote down some of his pearls of wisdom in regards to life on this Earth…

6  …..Doesn’t everyone go to the same place?
7 The purpose of all toil is to fill the mouth, yet the appetite is never satisfied.
8 What advantage has the wise over the fool, or the person with experience, if he is poor?
9 Better what the eyes can see than meandering desire. Yet this too is pointless and feeding on wind.
10 Whatever he is, he was named long ago, and it is known that he is merely human; moreover, he cannot defeat what is mightier than he [death].
11 There are many things that only add to futility, so how do humans benefit from them?
12 For who knows what is good for someone during life, during the days of his pointless life spent like a shadow? Who can tell what will happen under the sun after a person is gone?
Ecclesiastes 6:6-12
13Here is the final conclusion, now that you have heard everything: fear God, and keep his mitzvot; this is what being human is all about.
14For God will bring to judgment everything we do, including every secret, whether good or bad. [Here is the final conclusion, now that you have heard everything: fear God, and keep his mitzvot; this is what being human is all about.]
Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14
